Originally from Christchurch, New Zealand, I have lived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for more than 13 years.  In late 2013, I moved back to my homeland New Zealand with my Malaysian husband and 3 year old son, to start a new phase.

I picked up a camera in my early teens.  It was my other arm, eye and emotion, and still is.  For a good part of the last decade I traveled extensively in Asia working as a fashion model.  With a flexible schedule, I was able to keep the camera on my other shoulder and work on various photographic assignments such as weddings, events, fashion and corporate portraits, human and cultural interest, editorial and journalistic coverage.

I have never been afraid to experiment whenever given the opportunity and admit I am still rather obsessed with film photography especially playing around with old expired film from time to time.  I excitedly anticipate the weird and wacky results.

My style and approach is unassuming, natural and instinctive.

Having worked as a professional model, my strength would be that I am able to coach models and professionals during portrait shoots in a way that brings out the expressions that photos should.  Having lived and worked with people from a range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds, I have the ability to connect with people from all walks easily and make them feel instantly at ease in front of my camera.  We will definitely have a few laughs along the way.  That’s where great photos come from!

Mary was a pleasure to work with, very engaging and open to ideas on how to do things. She was punctual whenever we met and very professional. As a working model herself, Mary knew exactly what kind of imagery I needed for my own modeling portfolio.
